DCTO – Modern Zen
Posted on July 9, 2007
DCTO (Dreams Come True Object) is a modern recreation of a 1500 years old Japanese tradition. This little guy is based on the 5th century Zen Buddhism Daruma doll which presents the idea of a willingness to dedicate oneself to a goal and see that it is fulfilled. DCTO (pronounced ‘dik-toe’) is designed to right itself when it is knocked over. This is derived from a the old Japanese saying, “Nanakorobi yaoki”, “Fall 7 times, rise 8 times”.
DCTO was created in Vancouver, Canada by Chocolate Soop’s Dacosta Bayley. The official launch event will be hosted by VOLTAGE (Vancouver) on July 20th.
